Ladrowski Duo

Biographies

Recordings

The Ladrowski Duo (Cello and Piano) was formed in 2005 with the aim to work upon and perform the wonderful repertoire for cello and piano. They have performed throughout London and Europe thrilling their audiences with exciting programmes and youthful energy in performance. Their repertoire is ever expanding and they are always looking for new works to perform.

The Ladrowski duo often perform lighter salon programmes at many functions and events in and around London. These programmes consist of well known favourites and tunes that everyone can enjoy.

In the last twelve months the duo have performed as classical recitalists in a number of London's major concert series, including Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church, Regent Hall and Southwark Cathedral. Alongside this busy schedule of recitals the Duo have been featured artists on several Caribbean and Mediterranean cruise ships.

The Ladrowski Duo is ideal for performing recitals or background music at events such as wedding ceremonies and receptions, dinners, and soirees. Recently they performed for the German Embassy and the Royal Institute of Architects in London, as well as numerous engagements in the top London hotels.

Biographies

Andrew Blakemore (pianist) has been playing the piano since the age of five. At seven he entered the junior department of Trinity College of Music and has recently graduated from the senior college with first class honours and the silver medal for piano performance.

Although he plays regularly as a solo performer, Andrew specialises in accompaniment and chamber music and gives recitals with a wide range of instrumentalists. He particularly enjoys playing romantic and contemporary music and recently organised and performed in a two-day festival of American music that included a performance of Steve Reich’s epic and rarely performed work, Six Pianos.

William Burrows (cellist) graduated from the Royal College of Music in 2004 where he studied cello with Alexander Boyarsky. Previous to his undergraduate studies William studied at Trinity College of Music Junior Department where he first met Andrew and studied alongside him.

At the R.C.M. William was awarded both the Anna Shuttleworth prize for solo cello and the Cobbett and Hurlstone prize. William is a keen chamber and orchestral player, pursuing an extremely varied career as a freelance musician in London. He has also appeared as a concerto soloist with the Lalo, Stanford and Boccherini concerti.

William has just returned from a tour to America with the Prince Consort Ensemble (string octet) and a cruise to the Canary Islands performing with the Octavia Piano Trio. Future engagements include concerts with the Ladrowski Duo in London culminating in a series of three concerts performing all the Beethoven and Brahms works for cello and piano in September/October 2007.
